VERY NICE SILVER DISH "MINERVA" no reserve! BUY IT NOW. This auction is for a very nice silver dish stamped in the center "MINERVA - MARCH 30, 1914" Apprx. 6" in diameter and in very good condition, noting some minor silverplate flaking. The Minerva was built at the Luders Marine Company at Stamford Conn. in 1914 for use as a pleasure craft. She was 80 feet long and was leased by the U.S. Navy in May 1917 and was commissioned 2 months later as "U.S.S. MINERVA, (SP-425). She performed patrol duties and guarded anti-submarine nets in the New York City area. She was decommissioned and returned to her owner in January 1919. This fine dish is of interest to the yachting collectors as well as the USN and maritime collectors as well. SELLING WITH NO RESERVE! minerva-1,2,
