This auction is for an early drawing set in original metal case belonging to JP GOLDNEY. 2 section set with lift out tray includes several pens with ivory handles, several with "L.P.G." also with "CARY LONDON", 1 with "JACKSON BROS", others un-marked. Bottom section with 2 boxwood scales and a Marquois trianglular piece. All 3 are marked "L.P GOLDNEY - CARY LONDON. Scales are 12 3/8" and are in fine condition. Case has owner’s plaque on top. The Webster data base has several "CARY" listings from 1783 - 1859. This set is most likely first half 1800. See ref.
