This is a good scrimshawed whaletooth by William Gilkerson.Tooth is 4" tall and 2 1/8" across the base.Nice mellow patina.There is a old crack on the backside of tooth,most probably when scrimmed.Pirate on the front and ship on the back.One of Mr. Gilkersons favorite theme..Pirates.Signed with a G on the pirate chest.Extremely desirable clooectable scrimshaw.
