I am offering today a very well made half hull model that is most likely from the 1970's. Wish it were old, but not. The tag on this says Bill Wood, Half Hull Models and has a description of this particular model. It is a Melon Seed 1891. Carved from one block of wood and screwed in the back with two screws on a finished walnut beveled piece of wood. Bill Wood is from my area, Hammonton, NJ and was a prolific carver, I am told. Other than that I have no info on this man, but I am guessing if you googled his name, you might find out more. Purchased at an estate sale for decorative purposes only by me at the time. Still nice for a shore home, or a nautical room. What can you buy today of solid wood for this prce? Entire presentation measures 18 1/4 inches. Model itself, 14 1/2 inches.
